However, while SEO results still have to be waited for, using artificial intelligence means that many of the necessary actions can be expedited while increasing their efficiency. Certainly, the applications of ChatGPT in SEO pay off, but how to do it without losing your hair, for real results and benefits? Are there areas of SEO that will remain beyond the capabilities of artificial intelligence? Let’s find out

    What is ChatGPT?

    ChatGPT is an advanced natural language model developed by OpenAI. Its main task is togenerate texts that mimic human communication, enabling fluent conversations on various topics The model has been trained on a huge dataset from the Internet, so it has extensive general knowledge and the ability to learn from the context provided in the dialogue.

    ChatGPT can be used in a variety of areas – from automated customer service, to generating content and images for websites, to support in writing programming code. Its ability to understand and generate natural language in a way that is human-like opens up a wide range of application prospects.

    The model is also capable of continuous learning and adapting to new information, enabling it to answer current questions and adapt to changing user requirements. The tool has some limitations, however, such as:

    • Understanding of context and nuance – although ChatGPT is capable of generating coherent and often highly sophisticated responses, it can have difficulty correctly interpreting linguistic subtleties such as irony, sarcasm or very detailed cultural nuances.
    • Information timeliness -As a model trained on data available up to a certain point in time, ChatGPT may not be up to date on the latest events, trends or discoveries. Its knowledge is up to date until the last time it was trained, which means that some information may be outdated. In the case of ChatGPT 3.5, the data is from before September 2021, while for the newer ChatGPT 4 it is from before April 2023. If you use the interface via a browser then the tool can download information from the Internet, supplementing your knowledge on an ongoing basis.
    • Reliability of information – ChatGPT, like other language models, can generate content that appears convincing, but is not based on reliable sources or is completely fictional. This is particularly important when generating specialized or scientific information.
    • Security and privacy – Content generation by AI, especially in the context of user interaction, raises questions about data security and privacy. It is important that ChatGPT implementations comply with current data protection regulations.
    • Input dependency -The quality and accuracy of ChatGPT responses are highly dependent on the quality and accuracy of the questions asked or input provided. Imprecise or ambiguous queries can lead to the generation of less accurate answers.

    Why use ChatGPT for SEO?

    Applying ChatGPT’s artificial intelligence in SEO brings a number of benefits on various levels of marketing strategy. One of them is the ability to generate SEO-optimized content that is not only unique and valuable to readers, but also rich in relevant keywords. With its advanced understanding of natural language, ChatGPT can create articles, product descriptions or blog posts that naturally weave in keyword phrases, increasing the chances of high positioning in search results.

    Artificial intelligence also offers support in building natural internal and external links. ChatGPT can suggest where it would be valuable to link to another part of the site or an external page, which is an important ranking factor for search engine algorithms.     • increased efficiency in content marketing – ChatGPT significantly speeds up the content creation process for your site. You are sure to create more content in the same amount of time. The tool will come in handy, for example, for creating repetitive content on the same topic that differs in details (e.g., offer pages for cities, products that differ in color);

    Whether we want it or not, artificial intelligence has taken hold in online marketing for good. We can complain about this reality, and we can use it to our advantage. So how to work with ChatGPT in SEO and in what areas to use it to tweak your strategy?

    1. Search for content ideas with AI in SEO

    Content marketing and SEO often go hand in hand, and one of the first steps of an SEO content marketing strategy is coming up with ideas for blog posts and other resources. If you’ve been working on a content optimization strategy for a while, coming up with new topics that appeal to your audience can be difficult. A tool that will definitely improve your creativity for SEO content ideas is ChatGPT. Using it, you can find ideas for various content formats (not only blogs, but also webinars, newsletters, podcasts, videos, etc.). To effectively use ChatGPT for finding topics, take care of:

    • define your target audience,
    • defining what you do,
    • define the purpose of the content (education, information, entertainment, or perhaps product promotion),
    • add the key phrases around which you want to build content,
    • taking into account preferences for style and tone of speech, language,
    • add special requirements and restrictions.

    On the one hand, content creation has never been easier than it is today, using ChatGPT. On the other hand, it does not at all mean that content specialists will lose their jobs (at least at the current stage of AI development). See what opportunities ChatGPT offers for content creation:

    • Generate article outlines.

    • Generate individual paragraphs of content, including introductions and summaries.

    1. How to analyze keywords with ChatGPT and is it necessary?

    It’s tempting to use ChatGPT for keyword analysis, but is it entirely a good solution? Not really. You can use ChatGPT for keyword analysis, but it’s better to just support the tool, still betting on keyword selection tools such as Google Keyword Planner, Senuto or Surfer. All this is because ChatGPT’s keyword information is limited – the tool will not be able to determine, for example, the average monthly number of searches, competitiveness, as the previously known tools do, which also use artificial intelligence for analysis, but are not conversational in nature. Moreover, often the phrases generated by ChatGPT are too elaborate, complicated and do not reflect the way Polish users generate queries (keyword-wise). Sooner these phrases could work well for voice search, but that has not gained popularity in Poland. In this case, what areas are worth implementing ChatGPT for keyword analysis in SEO?

    • For splitting key phrases according to search intent
    • To build topic clusters (these are categories of related topics linked to one central “pillar” topic. They help users navigate through your content and signal to search engines that your site has a high level of authority in that area).
    • To split phrases into general and long tail
    • For organizing phrases in table form.
    • For generating content ideas based on a list of keywords.

    Creating eye-catching and SEO-optimized metadata, such as a page’s title and description, is key to improving visibility in search results and enticing users to click through. These elements can be successfully created by ChatGPT. What prompting strategies should we use to make meta data SEO with ChatGPT meet our expectations?

    In terms of page title:

    • Your goal -you want the title to be short, contain keywords, and attract the attention of users.
    • Specify a character limit – 50-70 characters with spaces, and before you use the proposed title, check whether ChatGPT has taken the cues into account (it often does not, and titles are longer).
    • Add the key phrase that you want to use.
    • Indicate that you want the title to indicate CTA, reader benefit, etc
    • Generate several variants and choose the one that best fits your site. You can also combine them, using different headings from 2-3 suggestions. Customize the title yourself to fit your brand style.

    In terms of page description:

    • Add information about the character limit (150-160 characters with spaces) and check whether ChatGPT has complied with the limit.
    • Please include a call to action, briefly summarize the page in question and add information that makes your company stand out.

    ChatGPT demonstrates the ability not only to create content, but also to generate code HTML for SEO purposes. You can use these ChatGPT skills to develop structured data (Schema.org tags) Structured data are additional elements that you can include in your site’s code to improve your organic results and supplement them with so-called enhanced elements (rich snippets). These include, for example, information about a local company, events, products (e.g. rating, price), etc. Instead of writing such code by hand, you can delegate this task to SEO ChatGPT.     A frequently asked questions page is not only useful for users, but moreover, it can boost your SEO. To speed up the generation of FAQ sections, you should use ChatGPT in SEO. To get satisfactory results, first ask ChatGPT what are the most common questions related to a topic. Then ask them to be answered. You can also:

    • work out a list of questions yourself and converse with Chat only to get answers,
    • We organize questions into categories to make them easier for users to navigate. Categories can be based on type of product, type of problem, buying process, etc.

    The robots.txt file tells Google’s robots which URLs they should index and which, on the contrary, are excluded from indexing (these are, for example, rules and regulations pages, privacy policies, shopping cart pages, etc.). With ChatGPT, you can edit the robots.txt file and create indexing rules. When creating a robots.txt file, be mindful of what you are blocking. You don’t want to accidentally block search engines from accessing important pages, which will degrade your site’s visibility. Also always check the syntax and location of the file. Even small errors can significantly affect the way bots index your site.     1. Prepare a site map for SEO purposes with ChatGPT

    A site map is a listing of all URLs available within a single site, which makes it easier for robots to index the site’s content (and reach URLs, for example, when no link on the site leads to a particular URL). This is a file, e.g. in XML format, which contains a summary of links. If you want to create a site map with ChatGPT, you need to submit a list of links from your site to the tool. ChatGPT should return a site map explaining what each element means. Such a map will also include information such as when the site was last updated.
